From Skeptic to Studio Owner – AJ's Story

If you had told me years ago that I’d be opening my own Reformer Pilates studio, I probably would have laughed – or asked for another coffee to process it (I love coffee). It’s even harder to believe because I absolutely hated PE in school and I’m ridiculously accident-prone. How I ended up teaching on a Reformer machine and actually doing it well – God knows. But hey, if I can do it, most people can!

Yet here I am, standing in my very own space, proud, excited, and ready to share this journey with you.
How It Started
I discovered fitness in my twenties and I’ve been hooked ever since – it’s my antidepressant. After overcoming my own challenges, including back surgery that left me unable to walk for months, I knew I wanted to help others move better, feel stronger and believe in what their bodies can do. This studio isn’t just a place to work out; it’s a space to build confidence, community and resilience.

Welcome to My Studio
Located in the heart of Pontcanna, inside the award-winning Desg™ coworking space, my studio is more than just Reformer Pilates. It’s a hub where movement meets mindfulness, strength meets flexibility and every class is designed to challenge and support you – whatever your fitness level.
What Makes This Studio Special?
It’s not just the beautiful setting, the top-of-the-line Reformers or the progressive, music-driven classes I design (though those are pretty great too). It’s the people. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a total beginner, you’ll find a welcoming, inclusive space where we work hard, have fun and maybe even share a laugh or two along the way.

My Approach to Reformer Pilates
One of the things I love most about Reformer Pilates is how it allows me to express my creativity. My class flows are inspired by traditional Reformer Pilates, Les Mills methodology and yoga, blending strength, control and dynamic movement into every session. No two classes are ever the same and that’s what keeps it exciting – for me and for you!

More Than Just a Workout
More than anything, teaching is where I feel the most authentically me. I love getting to know each member, building real connections and creating a sense of community where everyone feels supported and valued. I thrive on the energy in the room, the shared laughter and the small moments of empowerment when someone realises they’re stronger than they thought.
I want every class to leave you feeling accomplished, uplifted and maybe even a little surprised by what your body can do.
This is just the beginning of an incredible journey and I’d love for you to be a part of it. Whether you’re looking to improve your strength, ease back pain or just take an hour for yourself, my studio is here for you.
See you on the Reformer soon!
